MtF surgery question

I'm not looking at/for complete SRS, but am looking towards getting a "trachea shave". For those that have had one (or researched it) - how should I go about finding a good doctor? Do I just call up plastic surgeon's offices and say "Do you have any experience with trachea shaves?". I don't even know the correct medical terminology for the procedure...

And how much should I expect to be quoted? I understand prices vary (with experience, etc) and I don't want a discount surgeon poking at my voicebox (or touching my throat in general), but a ballpark would be helpful. Thanks.

Question about body image and passing

When you look in the mirror and "see a [target gender]" there, what do you think is happening? Do you find that hormones are actually making large changes in your appearance, or does it tend to be just a frame-of-mind thing?

Do you find that you're happier with yourself after a long day of blending/passing? Or, do you find that your physical body has made the changes you've desired, and the mental reframing is secondary?

I especially want to hear from transwomen, because estrogen seems to have less dramatic effects on us than T on the guys.
