Okay so I posted a suggestion of a single scene for a film I'm thinking of maybe scripting with the view to maybe actually filming at some point.

Someone asked what purpose the scene would be in there for and I started thinking about a plot arc involving a farcical interview to highlight a couple of things which don't often appear in films featuring trans characters.

I was going to post the whole scene here but it occurred to me that as time continues I may need a sounding board for lots of the work I do on many different snippets of the script.

As such I thought of creating a small subset of my friends list to post snippets to. If you'd like to be on this filter, let me know in a comment here as otherwise you won't see the sections I post to my journal.

Just so you know, I'd like to keep the list small so that not many people can see the things I change. Letting people see my works in progress is a real leap of faith for me.

There are a few people who mentioned having done some work on short films whom I'd particularly like to be there to advise me (along the lines of whoah, you can't make that scene look like that on YOUR budget!) but I don't want to ram it down peoples throats so its there for you to opt in on.

Although I'm advertising this solely to the transgender group, it should be known that the plot as it stands has only one main TS character, and for a majority of the story, the fact is completely irellevant. I thought it'd be nice if her character could be regarded as I'd like to be, just a regular girl, except in one particular scene when offer the stark contrast of her in guymode just to force the point home how female she REALLY is, even when trying to hide it.

I think it works well. Current plot is a morality tale about friendship, morality, art, science and success in life. I'm pitching it in my head as a feminist 'Clerks' because I'm such a Kevin Smith fangirl. Characters are almost entirely based on people I know (which is why I didn't offer this to my regular friends list).

So any takers?

Calling out to anyone out there who successfully appealed to get their SRS covered by health coverage, either private or through your employer.

I am currently looking at exactly how to appeal my employers health care plan to have it include SRS coverage. Unfortionatly the rational they are using to deny coverage is that they say that any "medically necessisary" surgeries are covered by OHIP (Ontario's pubilc health plan) and thus they dont cover ANY surgeries.

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated, especially if you happen to live in Ontario.
