Tyra Banks - Pre-Op Transsexuals...
Oct. 13th, 2006 10:42 amARE YOU A PRE-OP TRANSSEXUAL ABOUT TO UNDERGO GENDER REASSIGNMENT SURGERY?Are you a pre-op transsexual who is planning gender reassignment surgery in the coming months? Have you been in contact with medical and mental health professionals who have approved your gender reassignment surgery? Are you currently preparing for the operation, and anxious to talk to others, face-to-face, who have already been through the surgery? As you prepare for your gender reassignment surgery, do you have a message for your family, friends, or other members of society? Do you have a loved one who is about to undergo gender reassignment surgery, and you want to reassure them and offer your support? If you or someone you know is about to undergo gender reassignment surgery, and you would like to share your story with Tyra.
Okay, a few questions here:
- Why would someone who is pre-op out themselves?
- Do they realize the danger they are putting the pre-op people on their show in?
- Financially -- they could loose their jobs
- Emotionally -- they're being outed and have a huge chance of being harrassed if they're recognised
- Physically -- harrassment could turn violent
- Do they realize that if the Doctors decide to come onto the show (if they're spotlighting the doctors who perform the surgeries), that could put those doctors onto the mental lists of fanatics which could cause them harrassment, or their patients harrassment or harm
- Do they realize that while trying to do something good, by making people aware of transsexuals, they are also doing a disservice to the transsexuals themselves because once they transition, MOST just want to lead normal lives, and leave the transition behind them?
Now I'm not trying to knock what she's doing... I mean, in a lot of ways, it could be a good thing. But there are so many ways that a good thing can be turned bad, and really, that's my fear...
Thoughts? Opinions?

First Time I Missed Hormone Shot On Time
Oct. 13th, 2006 04:01 pmI've never missed a shot, always did it exactly at the same time every week. I had changed my days from Friday's to Wednesday's because my Friday's are too busy now.
So on Wednesday I forgot to do the shot, and today, until I realized that I forgot it on Wednesday, I was completely drained. I didn't really know that it was the cause but when I remembered that I hadn't done the shot I did it right away - that was noon. By 1:30pm I felt a thousand times better - full energy levels back.
I still don't know if it was just a coincidence or not, but I haven't been that drained since after a bike race a couple of years ago.
Anybody else have experiences like this?

Oct. 13th, 2006 07:24 pmHey guys,
I just set up an appointment with Dr. Reardon (New York City) for a bilateral without grafts in december. i chose him mainly cuz of location and that he didn't require a letter. not his ability to retain sensation. but while looking through trannster- i came across someone who wasn't too pleased with his practice or the results. infact his techniques were quite unprofessional. Granted, there will always be that one person who's not satisfied. but with the amount of money he's asking for, a good reputation counts for every person. right?
so my question is, does anyone know anything about him, have any experience with him and so forth?
also, my other option was going to be dr. Melissa Johnson (Mass.) her results seem great especially with bilateral. she performs her surgery in a hospital unlike dr. reardon, which i like. however, she does requires a letter and she's booked for quite a while. so, what would you guys recommend? thanks!
