What is involved in Designing own clothes?

Started but didn't complete a Fashion Design course a few years ago....due to lack of home equipment I couldn't complete assignment...just wondering whether anyone here has attempted this and if so is a skill which can be learned by an average person with effort?. Am somewhat creative...wouldn't say very...but a bit yes...like colour and things unusual....!

Do you ever feel out of the loop, dating wise, because of your transition status? I'm pre-everything and I find myself sometimes wondering if the fact I'm not on T and still can appear very feminine sometimes could affect my ability to find a potential partner. I don't want to date straight men or lesbian women since I don't ID correctly for either of those relationships, and I think I would prefer a male relationship, but because I'm not transitioning yet I don't know how I'd fare that way. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else feeling something similar. It feels like I'm making it more complicated for myself than it needs to be, though, but I'm not really sure how to make it uncomplicated right now.
