My hair was always weak. It began thinning before I could even think about going on hormones. I'm considering hair transplant for the massive widow's peak I've got going on, because I wish not to wear wigs forever. Who here has done this? What was the cost approximately? Were you satisfied?

Was curious if anyone on here was going to the Transgender 2009 - Liberty Conference in Philadelphia next week?

I've heard a lot of people make mention of going/participating in the Philadelphia Trans-Health conference in June, but little to nothing from people regarding Liberty Conference.

I went to Liberty conference two years ago for one day and had a good time, and decided to try doing the entire event + social activities this year, and my partner is going with me. We live moderately near philly, but decided to make it a mini-vacation and stay at the hotel. We're hoping to maybe make some new friends while we're there.

Any other Pennsylvania locals going? (Or non PA folks too!).

(Cross-posted to a few places, apologies for spam).

Hi, My names Gabe, I am new to live journal. Just wanted to say hi and tell you a little bit about myself. I am 28, married for 8 years to my wonderful wife Nikki, we have a 20 month old daughter named Madalyn. I have been on T for about 4 years, and had top surgery 2 years ago with Richard Tholen here in Minnesota. I also have a question...Ihave been on T for quite a while, I have great facial hair around the Goatee area and on my neck but the side burns and cheeks are a little slow growing. The hair is definately there don't get me wrong...its just not as thick as the rest...how long did it take for some of you to get a full beard?

Glad to meet you all,'
Gabe

i have a question for female-identified people out there. i hope i can word it well enough so it doesn't come across as one of those "so how DO [insert non-heteronormative word(s) here] have sex??" questions, but forgive me if i fail at that attempt.

long story short, my friend and i have started teaching a class that basically covers how to respect a gender non-conforming person's body when it comes to sex. ideas on how to treat your partner's parts as they see them, whether it be physically, verbally or otherwise, respecting their gender identity and body through consent and check-ins, etc.

the first and only time we've taught the class, we got really good feedback about it, but the one suggestion that came up a few times is having more information about female-identified people who fall under the trans umbrella. as two people who fall more on the side of ftm on the trans spectrum, we thought that perhaps instead of guessing or coming up with ideas we think would be good, we get suggestions from people have actually experienced said suggestions.

so, with that said, if you were to attend a class like this, what would you like to hear as far as ways to respect a transwoman's body in bed? suggestions for pre-op, post-op, or no-op bodies are all welcome.

if you don't feel comfortable responding in comment form, please feel free to email me. jeoates at mac dot com.

thank you so much in advance to any and all that can help out!

Hi, I'm Frankie!

I can't start T until I move to Baltimore, where I get treatment, because my current female roommates were battered women. I pass most of the time with the help of a jacket or binder. I'm on Medicaid, looking for a worthwhile job to save the money for moving, and am anticipating transition. Unfortunately, saving money is nearly impossible because Social Security takes back nearly half the paycheck. I don't know what to do. My doctor suggested 'hard work', if I can find any.

I also write poetry at queerpoets. I should publish it with my blog soon.

If anyone has any helpfull information, please respond.

I had vaginoplasty 2.5 weeks ago.  Over the last week or so I've been lactating. It's not a huge amount - just a few drips here and there. But it's enough that I notice it. I was off of estradiol for 4 weeks total and just restarted it this past week. But I noticed the lactation before I started E again.

Has anyone else had this? How common is it?
