Facial hair is evil!

Ok. So I am looking for a cheap but effective temporary solution to facial hair and all it's evilness.

 I know plucking is one way to get a smooth surface and no shadow...however I am simply too impatient to take the time (or pain) to do so.
So is waxing a safe alternative to plucking? (on the face)  Or is that a big no no?
