Transitioning for the genderqueer?

So I've been struggling with a question lately that I'm sure there are others who've had the same problem I do. If you consider yourself outside the gender binary, or two spirited or bigendered, how do you decide whether or not to also physically transition? Do you believe it to be a separate issue from your genderqueerness/bigenderedness/etc., or do you view the genderqueerness, etc. as part of the reason for your medical/physical transition.
