Telling your boss....
Jun. 17th, 2005 05:50 pmSo last Wednesday, I decided to tell my boss's assistant (and by extension our boss), why I had been asking for permission to come in late on certain days every couple of months (blood tests) and also why I was going to need a day off every month or two (laser appointments at some doctor's office in Boston that a friend recommended).
I sent her a bit of a stammering, rambling email, but I managed to get the message across.
She comes back with "I'm not surprised" and "I applaud you for doing the best thing for you".
Afterwards, she asks me if it's alright if she breaks the news to the boss-man, which I agree with.
He doesn't give a squat about it and is totally cool. And best of all, my job is safe. There's no reason I should be worrying about getting fired because of my tran.
Well, that's another ton of cinderblocks I'm not toting around anymore. :)
Anyone else have any experiences with telling their superiors about such...issues?
