Hi everyone :)

I'm not transgendered, but I am taking a class at my college called Human Sexuality and we came across the topic of Transgendered individuals and I want to post my opinion here :)

First of all...my professor said "transgendered"...and yet...no part of me accepts the term, because I believe that if you were "assigned" "female" or "male" but know deep in your soul that you aren't what sex you were assigned, you shouldn't have call yourself transgendered. (Did that come out ok? I hope its not too fdjkfdakfdl to comprehend) I believe you are gendered, like everyone else.

Or hell, who's to say that you have to have a specific gender? Obviously, when you were born, someone made a mistake with the gender assignment, and that isnt your fault.
I believe that whatever force resides above us created you the way It wants you, and thats wonderful! I just wish that society would move beyond mere tolerance to acceptance and realize that being white and middle-to-upper class and white-collar employed is the minority. (I bet society does know, and thats why everyone's so nasty).
I think that sugeries should be covered fully by insurance, and I' sorry to say that I have somewhat violent sentiments towards those who are cruel to those who are considered societally "different".
I don't know anyone personally who is transsexual, transgendered, or a transvestite. And it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference to me if someone I knew and loved told me one day "I'm a transgendered person"...in all honestly, I'd pribably respond with "Ok...shall we get coffee and talk?".

Well...i hope some of this makes sense....it works in my head...and I hope I didn't offend anyone...I don't think I did, but you never know...

~Love
