Policies at College/University
Feb. 27th, 2006 11:40 amA task force was recently formed at my school to address and evaluate the campus in terms of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, qiestioning, and intersex issues. I'm one of the student members of the task force (it's a mix of largely undergrad students, staff, and faculty). I'm also the only transperson on the task force.
I was placed into a sub-committee specifically evaluating policies and their inclusivity or lack thereof; we are to write recomendations for change to make the policies more inclusive of GLBTQI people.
I wanted to know what policies you can think of at a university that can be looked at? I am having trouble thinking of some.
Obviousally, the anti-discrimination policy... but I'm not sure of what else to look at... I'm thinking of the student/staff health insurance policy, bathrooms... but what else?
Thanks in advance.
