Boston's longest running open mic for poets/spoken wordsters/literary
geeks/journal writers/queers/transgender/gender queers
Feature: Rod
Rod is native of Rome, GA where he spent 23 years as a captive of
southern christianity and absurd humidity. Rod relocated to Boston 3
years ago to work for the Haley House, a homeless service provider in
the South End. It took him 3 years to quit. He is currenlty a
supervisor for transistional living programs at the Shattuck Shelter
in Jamaica Plain. He has been published in the journals Elixir, the
Susquehanna Review, Ramifications, and What's Up magazine.
Gender crash will take you from politics to erotica in less than 5
minutes. A fun, welcoming, exciting, and often flirtatious crowd where
open mic performances range from spoken word, to comedy, to drag, or
acoustic music, all from newbies to veterans.
