I have to say that I remain quite amused at the idea that after transition, my wife and I will be legally married lesbians. Sort of.
What I am wondering is, in those states that have outlawed gay marriage, when you oficially change your gender, do they take your marriage away? Come to think of it, even in fairly liberal states like mine, do they take it away? :^\
I really don't want to have to weigh getting a legal gender change with joint tax filing and having her covered on my insurance. And to have fourteen years (sixteen or more by the end of transition) of marriage just yanked by the government... the idea is a tad unsettling.
So do they do that?
