Gender WTF? (Gender says what?)

transOkay, so, um...
I was walking with Ky to get a coffee just a minute ago, and something really confusing just happened.
I was wearing my hippie-faerie-I'm-too-lazy-to-really-put-effort-into-femmeness outfit (which is still casually femmey), and he put on some normal "pretty much male looking" outfit, except for one thing. He felt like rockin' his femmey rockstar long-hair wig, just cuz. Final piece, it is raining, so I grab my big purple unbrella. I'm holding it, because I feel like it.
So, we're walking back, and all of a sudden, I notice that the gender-dynamics between us are really... odd. Um, like, not normal for us. I'm usually the femmey sexy faerie M2F, he's usually the androgynous boy looking F2M, who isn't all that butch, but actually usually passes. So, I'm the Lady, he's the Gent.
He tells me he also notices this, that there is an odd role reversal going on. Well, we're usually up for playing with gender expression and roles, but for some reason, this is giving me a weird pulsey/confusey feeling around my heart chakra, and I'm sort of losing equilibrium. He asks me if he wants him to carry the umbrella, but, um, I can't decide, so we just get inside.
WTF? Um. Was this some sort of strange Dysphoria occurence, the kind only two individuals who are not so bothered by Dysphoria? (Usually. Bugs me about once a month for several hours. He's good at dealing as well.) It didn't feel... bad... just... confusing.
Is this that Gender Confusion thing I've heard so much about from Conservative Opponents to Trans-Anything? (lmao.)
