Apologies for cross-posting.

From Butch Dyke Boy Folks.....
Concerning MSN.com's low view of transsexuals...

At first I thought the search engine was just being stupid and showing the warning for any search word that included "sex" in it (which "transsexual" does, after all). But that's not true: "intersexed" and "bisexual" are acceptable.

But then, along the lines of this observation:

Get this--even such "extreme" subject/content as"bondage/discipline" and "sadomasochism" are not affected, yet "transsexual" is...

I tried "pedophile" as a search word. That one was fine.

So, folks, it appears we rank below pedophiles in the eyes of MSN.com

P.S. Though it's understandably of little comfort to all you beautiful TS souls out there, at least "transgendered" doesn't produce a warning...

From Transgender Gazebo Folks:

It has come to my attention that the MSN.com search engine is now off-limits to those seeking information/community/advocacy under the heading of "transsexual." This came to my attention a few days ago through an email list on Yahoo groups called "Transgender Gazebo" which may be found at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/transgendergazebo/ and which information I have verified for myself as of two days ago. By going to the Transgender Gazebo site you may see what others have written regarding this situation but here is the situation. This is the situation. If you go to msn.com and enter the word "transsexual" in the search box, you will not be allowed to get results from msn.com. Instead you will get some kind of weird error/"Warning" message pretty much saying something to the effect of "this is a forbidden word" and that "this word will likely result in adult content," then tells you to click on a link to a page called "night surf"--DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS "LINK" into thinking you will be able to get decent, reliable info on transsexual issues by clicking on it--it is nothing but a XXX porno site advertising some pretty nasty "tranny sex" stuff and then some. Let's run thru this again, msn says "transsexual" shouldn't be allowed because it's "sexual" or "obscene" and then dumps you to a porno site! Also, only "transsexual" is being filtered/blocked/discriminated here, "transgender," "gay,"
"lesbian" are not affected, or the less commonly used spelling "transexual." Get this--even such "extreme" subject/content as "bondage/discipline" and "sadomasochism" are not affected, yet "transsexual" is. At best, this is total stupidity or a glitch or a hacker; at worst it is blatant, flagrant, right-in-yer-face discrimination and oppression of transsexuals, pre-, post- and non-operative, as being "Depraved sex addicts." I urge everyone who sees this to read this immediately and try to do something, or at the very least, pass this on to someone you think can do something to pressure Microsoft (don't they own the msn.com search site?) to look into and change this.
