name change
Jan. 17th, 2007 09:20 amfirst off, i just wanted to thank everyone who helped to reassure me that my name change hearing would not be a big deal. my hearing was scheduled for 3:00pm yesterday and after waiting about a million years in the hall with increasingly cranky and anxious children i finally saw the judge at about 5:40pm. i was the very last case the be heard, and as such there was no one in the room besides the officials and myself. this gave the judge a little giggle when she asked if there were any objections to my name change. she asked me why i wanted to change my name and i told her that it's the name that my friends and coworkers use for me. the judge was nice and seemed to be in a good mood, despite her longer-than-usual day in court. the only downside is that because it was so late i could not get the paperwork yesterday, which means missing school to go in and pick it up.
another thing i'd like to mention is that my mom told my 13 year old brother that i'd gotten my name changed (which he knew was coming). he got online last night and said to me "i heard you're my brother now. sup bro?" it was great. he's a good kid.
