Jan. 24th, 2007 11:25 pmTonight at the staff meeting for the daycare I work at.. we were told that "we" (meaning I) are no longer allowed to mention/talk about our (my) gay friends and family members because parents probably won't want their children "learning about that kind of thing".
I think my jaw hit the floor.
To me, that's like saying I can't talk about African-American friends and family because parents wont want their kids around that. I don't know.
I think I need to have a private talk with my boss, come out to her, and tell her how much that offended/hurt me, and how singled out I felt.
What do you all think?
