Wikipedia to delete DOR Webcomics page
Jan. 28th, 2007 07:55 amOkay, now I'm incensed. Wikipedia apparently wants to delete the stub on The Day of Rememberence Webcomics project. There's some grounds that this is a vendetta against Jenn Dolari (artist of Closetspace and A Wish for Wings) based on previous articles that were nominated for deletion. Not only do I find this petty, but I think this an example of academic laziness at best. They're primary grounds for deletion are lack of notability, and lack of third party coverage.
As my Cultural Anthropology professor taught me, the one way to smash an academic's opinion is to drown them in hard evidence. The nominators for deletion did little more than to conduct a google search to find entries to the DOR Webcomics project. Given the fact the entries were image based, with filenames limited to dates and no adjoining text, any search engine would be ineffective.
How you can help
Because I have submitted entries to the project, I do not qualify as a third party. What we need to do is to go through Jenn's archive page of DOR entries. We need to match these up with the original pages on the contributing artist's site. Then, you can post the links -- or just your comments! -- at the Deletion page.
Thanks!
