I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with trying to write off their SRS procedures?  I had SRS in September of 2006 and now that tax time has rolled around, I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions or experiences with this.  I have heard that some people have had great difficulty in getting the IRS to approve SRS, and that they will audit you.  I've also heard other people say that this was done for a short while, but as of present it's all right.

I am currently a resident of the US.
