I'll be the first to bite...

I saw it earlier tonight, although I didn't see all of the MSNBC program a few nights ago. So I can't really compare them.
It was good and bad, as usual.
The families picked did send the message that you have to love your children for who they are. I'm glad a person unfamiliar with GID would hear that. That hit a little too hard for comfort, as my own mom told me she did not have unconditional love for me. Just like at a PFLAG conference I went to, I'm just blown away by such supportive families. They had a throw-away line in the show; that not all families are so supportive. Obviously it would be tough to get a non-supportive family on TV to show exactly what that means for many trans folk.
And it was hosted by Barbara Walters, so I knew I was going to wince. You know she was going to make someone cry at some point.
