Sorry for cross-posting.

This excellent article was forwarded on the GAIN Digest, TransgenderNews, and RIGC. It reminded me of our discussion last month in my support group about mutual respect between those of us who have identities that are more "fluid" or more "binary." Regardless of all that, there's still so much we have in common.

Ummm, hi, I'm new here. I really don't know what to put into this first post here so here goes nothing. Seventeen years of age, Preop M->F transexual who hasn't had her coming out yet. All the people that know (IRL) are two of my friends. As I am having more and more difficulty with it I thought: "what the heck, let's join a community that is about it, because being depressed on your own propably sucks worse".

Well, ummm ... I guess that sums it up.

From ftm.

I can only hope other people (states) follow in some manner...

Just received the following note from Donna Cartwright, member of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark and founder of GRAANJ, a transgender activist group in NJ. Rejoice with us!

Dear all:
I'm delighted to report that the New Jersey Assembly voted 74-0 (with 2 abstentions) today to approve a transgender inclusive safe schools bill. The bill was approved by the Assembly education committee last Monday, after GRAANJ, GLSEN, the NJ Lesbian and Gay Coalition, and other progressive and allied groups presented powerful testimony in support.
