Who speaks French here?!

I was listening to a song in the car this morning, I quite like it, and I've always thought it was a little boy singing "Je suis son garçon" ("I am his/her son"). However this morning, the first line caught my attention: "Dis Maman, pourquoi je suis pas un garçon?" ("Say mummy, why am I not a boy?").

So I looked it up on the Internet and found I'd misheard the other bit. In fact the words are "Sans contrefaçon je suis un garçon" ("Without a doubt, I am a boy").

The rest of it is all full of typical French fantasy about tin soldiers and knights as far as I can tell, but the chorus is all kind of like, "Since I have to choose, I'll say it softly: I am a boy ... I wouldn't want to undress myself for an empire ..." (I think that's what it says!)

Anyway, how about I paste the whole song under a cut, and can somebody tell me - is this what I think it is?
