Has anyone else seen this? It debuted tonight (12/6). Unlike TransGeneration, I haven't heard anything about this till tonight. The website includes a 2 minute preview, and it looks to be really well done. It features Andrea James from www.tsroadmap.com (I love that website, it helped me so much in gathering info about transitioning) Just curious if anyone might have seen it already and what your thoughts on it are.

Hi,

I'm a sophomore at Vassar College in New York and I'm currently gauging my options for spending a semester abroad next year. I've begun to consider a program in Amsterdam: the SIT program in Gender and Sexual Identity. Although I've been extremely excited about this program for the past few months, upon closer investigation (and after receiving feedback from a few former participants), I've begun to question the program's validity and curricular perspective. The negative responses I've received include issues of a singular feminist perspective, specifically that the program is remiss in fulfilling its scholarly duty in that it offers a very narrow view, and no tools with which to critique that view; some of the program faculty (none of whom have phDs) support female trafficking and prostitution; and the syllabus readings are outdated which indicates a lack of academic rigor.

I'm very interested in a larger response. It's extremely important to me to go abroad to study gender and queer theory, and if this program seems ill-fated, I would love to learn of other options. If you have any feedback or advice with respect to this particular programs or similar ones, your response would be incredibly appreciated.

If you'd rather communicate directly, my e-mail address is albarlow@vassar.edu. Thanks!

Court of Appeal Allows Exclusion of Trans Women
Egale calls for explicit protection of Trans people in Human Rights legislation

Vancouver—Three judges of the B.C. Court of Appeal today dismissed the appeal by Kimberly Nixon in the case of Nixon v. Vancouver Rape Relief Society. Ms. Nixon had been excluded from volunteering as a peer counselor at a women’s rape crisis centre because she is transsexual. She won her initial human rights complaint but that B.C. Human Rights Tribunal decision was overturned by the B.C. Supreme Court, leading to this appeal. This is the highest level of court in Canada ever to rule on a case of discrimination against a transsexual person.

Hello. I just joined a couple of days ago, but I haven't posted an intro, yet. I'm Michelle. I'm 17, bisexual, female bodied, but I feel like I'm both genders in my mind.

I wrote this a little bit ago, and I felt like sharing, since it seems fitting to be in here:
