lifetime movie
Jun. 20th, 2006 10:05 amDid anyone watch the lifetime movie last night, A Girl Like Me? It was about a trans female. Born as Eddie and then became Gwen. It was based on a true story and it was sad. She was beaten to death. I asked my mom to watch it too. Maybe it educated her a little more. I'm a trans male, but we all deal with basically the same problems. I'm hoping it opened her mind a little bit.
If you watched it, what did you think? Did they do a good job of portraying what her life was like?

I"m human. Go figure.
I struggle to find worth in myself, without having the things in life that society says gives one worth. (money, things, kids, family, relationship, "good" job, etc). I struggle to find Identity, in the face of past loves and future hopefulls (trying to NOT form myself to their ideals of me, just for the sake of love). I struggle to find Love, with myself, and to share with another.
It's the human condition isnt' it? I suppose today, as i'm feeling a bit emotionally overwraught from new discoverys behind my emotions and re-actions, I take solace in that. In the normalicy of my journey, even at it's most unique.
