While I appreciate that probably a majority of contributors here are not European based...I am still interested in hearing others perspectives on Employment for Transgendered Individuals?my Therapist would like to see a career before sanctioning any hormonal treatment. and he is right..there is a life therafter to be lived whiich cannot easily be done without employment and thus money!...I am a qualified teacher and in the early stages of studying Psychology. However to secure a job as a Transgendered Teacher here..while not impossible..would be a very difficult task.. Ironicaly a lot of Ladies Fashion stores..where I would like to work..won't take me..because I'm a man! Was considering maybe Beauty Therapy? Maybe even focus on the Trans Market?.  I believe that the U.S.A. has a far more developed Trans culture than Ireland...which is really invisible in places... I don't expect miracles from anyone....but hey I who knows somebody might have a viable suggestion!
Thanks for all who take the time to reply

Hey all! New member, I'm still trying to figure all of this out, but I'm FtM, pretty sure non-op. I basically joined to read posts and maybe respond here and there, but I decided to post today looking for some help. I'm trying to help my partner understand whats going on, she is trying but I don't want to scare her. More complex is that when I am with her I don't feel uncomfortable being female, it's strictly with the rest of the world (But even around her I feel better being more masculine). The two of us have been trying to work together and figure out what works within that. But I don't really know exactly what I need and want yet, so explaining my needs to her has been extremely difficult seeing as I don't communicate well anyways. I'm essentially looking for advice on discovering and communicating what I need.
Thanks
~Adam formerly known as Ang ;-)

Okay - I've got a story to tell. I've skirted this before due to privacy issues, but I think the time is right to mention that my partner is also trans - FTM. We've been together a long time; in fact since long before either of us transitioned or came out to each other. We sort of found each other, somehow.

We've been transitioning together for the last two years and it's been wonderful. While we always had reversed gender roles from the start (by choice), it was still mildly awkward. All that's gone now, things fell into place; our instincts match.

I love my boy.
