A few weeks ago, there was a woman named L.A. Johnson who wrote an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about a transwoman named DannyLee who transitioned on the job and was fired for it. It was a very tasteful article on the transition of this woman and was done very well.  DannyLee took the case public and sued the company that fired her. The defendant filed a motion to dismiss, and in the end, I believe the judge actually did. This isn't the important part of the story, however.

The original article

Transgender woman followed long road to feel at home with herself

The responses to this article from the readers in the "Chat" section are disgusting in the very least. Now, keep in mind that this is the liberal paper in Pittsburgh, and the only other alternative is the Pittsburgh Trib, a paper owned by George Bush lover, Richard Mellon-Scaife.

Chat with users about the article

This is my favorite excerpt from there - "Concerned: My concern is what is the person's relationship with God, the creator and designer of all living creatures? Isn't this change against how He created us?"

Or how about this one?

"Steelerfan: I would like to know what the real purpose is of going so public - I am sure that "she" is hoping it will generate some cash."

Yeah, because all transpeople are doing it for the attention and love that they get from their family. Also, nice touch there, putting the she in quotes. Like she's not...really a female or something. I give you a gold star.

I wish I would've noticed this chat section a little sooner, so that I could've responded with my own chat column, but I didn't, so I just have these people to read. Seriously though, read through some of those responses. They're pure comedy gold.  This sort of stuff makes me sick, and I certainly wrote to the editor about it.
