There was a special on NBC about whether or not you can tell a child wil be gay when they grow up. But the focus of a show was a little boy who painted his nails pink and played with barbies. He SAID IN THE SHOW that he thought he should have been born a girl and wants to be a girl. I do not understand why NBC thinks this has anything to do with his sexual orientation. First of all, he does not say anything about attraction to anyone. Second, he is too young to be sexual ( or at least I would think so). There are clips from it on the NBC web site at http://60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/68/gay_or_straight?

I got a reply to the email I sent the reporter who did that atrocious story about the Kent Sate bathrooms a week or so back.
He suggested that incidents I'df mentioned were "urban legends". I replied that I was referring to info posted by the person they'd happened to.
But it's occurred to me that it would help to be able to cite real news stories (for example the ones about the trans-woman in NYC who was beaten up in the McDonald's restroom and then charged with attacking the guy who'd beaten her up).
So I'm looking for links to news stories about people being hassled for using the wrong bathroom as well as any personal accounts folks are willing to have linked.
And if someone recalls which LJ community a transwoman from Portland, OR posted about getting Mall security called on her I'd like that too. It was sometime in the last month or two
I'm hoping to ram this reporter's prejudices down his throat

Pride 2007
May. 29th, 2007 10:27 pmOkay… My life is crazy, almost hellish right now! I’m working 65+ hours a week as my new position takes off, I have friends living on my couch, and I’m having difficulty paying the bills, and of coarse, right in the middle of this all sits ‘the little festival that could, Utah Pride 2007.’ Five more days to get ready for the goal I set of attending this year as myself. Dear god… am I ready for that? Scared as hell, and battling almost constant anxiety attacks. Oh well… Here goes, right? First pictures of me… being me… Don’t laugh, it's a stupid Cell Phone picture, so it's not great. Now I’m going to go hide my head under a pillow.

The Nine Month Tranny Round-up
May. 29th, 2007 11:10 pmPreviously listed developments in one place.
1)Boobs pretty much obvious and nipples expanding. Mostly warm to hot and sore to the touch.
2)Fatty tissue shift to thighs and ass with what is probably cellulite, cottage cheese, whatever you want to call it.
3)Shift in lower center of gravity (see 2).
4)Face androgynous to female (not really male any longer).
5)Body hair on arms and legs thinned out and lighter. Approaching almost invisible.
6)Skin more translucent. Might I even say prettier.
7)(the biggie) Hair is growing back on top of head and forward to forehead (WOOHOO!).
Good night, and good luck.
