I am wondering if anyone in the USA has tried testosterone pellets? Someone at the clinic I get my shots at said they didn't know if one could get them done in the States. I looked around online and there's FDA info about them and nothing that says they are NOT approved??? I'm not in a huge rush to try them, BUT I do think that these would be the best option for me, regardless of cost, provided I don't have a massive reaction to the dang things. Do you have to find a specific kind of Doctor to implant them? I live in the middle of nowhere in Norther Cali, but I travel to Sacramento regularly and wouldn't mind needing to travel a couple times a year for treatment.

Also, I wanted to know about birth certificates. If you change your BC, are you required to inform your employers? I'm not out and work and have no immediate plans to be, so it isn't like it's a rush, I'm just curious how many hoops I need to plan on jumping through. :/

Hey everyone, just a quick question!

This coming Monday morning is a T-injection day for me. However, I'm going camping from Sunday night to Tuesday night, and I don't think the public campground bathrooms or the tent sound like a fun or sanitary place to do a shot, nor do I want to wait until late Tuesday or Wednesday because I know it will make me feel irritable and gross.

I was wondering, if I did my shot on Sunday before we leave (probably between 1-2pm) instead of Monday morning, would it have any adverse effects/is it safe? My dose is 150mg every 2 weeks and I've been on it for 8 months.

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm cross posting this to a few communities.  I have just received an email from my PCP in Boston stating that she will need to
refer me to a different doctor because she feels that money grows on trees and therefore, I should go in to see her at least once a year.  Additionally, I am a broke AND unemployed college student living in south eastern Massachusetts and Providence isn't very close so I have not considered taking the train to Boston from there.  To be more clear, traveling to Providence would be easy but dishing out an additional price for a train ticket (and subway/taxi fares/bus tickets) would be problematic.  I was doing some research to see if I could find a physician for hormones in Rhode Island that I could just drive to, simply a way to get from A to B, without having to take various different modes of transportation to get to where I want to go.

Understandably, I could just drive to Boston, but that is almost 2 hours away and equally expensive than train/subway/bus/taxi, as far as the price of gas goes.

Tvox did not show any physicians in Rhode Island or near southeastern MA.

My next step was to come on here and see if, by any chance, I would have more luck asking this community if anyone has any suggestions or experience with providers in Rhode Island or closer to southeastern Massachusetts.  I strongly do believe that there are lots of other providers out there that Tvox has not added to their site.

I'm starting to get things in order so my partner and I can start testosterone, and the biggest worry right now is the cost.

What I want to know is if anybody has the rough estimates on how much the labs cost - all the preliminary lab work necessary to start HRT - both with and without insurance. My partner is insured, but we don't know what it covers. I may or may not be fully insured because my mother (whose insurance plan I am/was on) isn't really talking to me so I don't know if she actually lost her job or not. If I'm not on her insurance, I'm on the UNH student insurance. And again, I don't know what all either of those would cover. So I'm basically looking for best case/worst case scenarios - hope for the best, plan for the worst.

EDIT: what I mean to say is, how much did it cost you? The more information I have, the better I can plan for this. I'm in the dark and it's making me anxious.

If it makes any difference, we're in New Hampshire, both UNH students, and going through Fenway Health in Boston. Any tips, tricks, or options we should be considering to lower the cost would be tremendously helpful as well.

Thanks!

PS, if anybody can give me a rough estimate of how long this process usually takes (from getting the labs done to having a T prescription), that would also be helpful!

Hey all! I've got a bit of a story (that gets a little ranty) and a related request.

First, the story. )

My request is this: based on the things she's worried about ("knowing" and HRT, mainly), does anybody have...
A) Any bookmarks or links to reliable studies and information on these subjects?
B) Any tips for my own Googling - what I should look for and avoid?

His mother is very science-minded and I think might believe anything that a study tells her is true. Hard facts and extensive research studies are ideal, but I've no clue where to start looking for all this. We're hoping that if we can give her enough information, enough reason for her to believe that we're serious about this, that she'll stop pestering us about it and may actually help out. Anything available on the internet is also ideal, as we don't have a lot of resources for other things, but book titles may also work, since I can pass them along as recommended reading.

Any help at all is appreciated, and thanks for sitting through all this!

Hi, I'm a pre-everything FTM.
I'd like to ask you a few things because a friend of mine is managing a forum for and about Italian FtMs...
I was writing about the effects of T on the body and the like, and the info I had mentioned that you can't smoke while you're on T.

One other user asked if that's really true, and why (he's a smoker); I'd also like to know because I sort of smoke, but I'm not addicted, so I might want to be extra careful about it...can you not smoke AT ALL, or is it just the abuse of smoke that gives problems? And why does it give problems, apart from the non-T related ones (lung cancer etc)?

Also, I've read that you have to avoid alcohol while you're on T.
Again, is it just the ABUSE of alcol you have to abstain from, or can't I EVER drink alcohol again after I'm on T? Can I still drink it occasionally and seldomly get drunk? Can I drink it occasionally but NOT get drunk, or can't I drink any of it, period?

This may be old knowledge, but I didn't know about it so some others might not too. I don't know if this is country-wide - it may just be in England, but if your PCT is one of those annoying ones that doesn't do 3 month prescriptions for HRT (do they think they're going to grow back?), and you're sick of the rigmarole of having to handle repeat prescriptions, even if your pharmacy handles them, read on.

My GP put me on something called Repeat Dispensing today. Basically, they write out a year's supply of repeat prescriptions at once, but time-delayed, and then give them all to you at once. You then take them to the pharmacy and they dispense the first one as normal, and keep the rest on file.

28 (or however long yours lasts) days later, you go back into the pharmacy and ask for the next one. They give you the drugs there and then, with no need to contact you GP to get the repeat signed off.

When your year's supply runs out, go and see you GP again and they'll give you another 12 months worth.

Thought this might be useful info.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I have been wondering for awhile now. Anyways, everything I read says most of the effects of hormone replacement therapy is irreversible. Like the deepening of the voice (for FtM), fat redistribution, etc. So why do you have to continue taking it? If the majority of the secondary characteristics (at least that is what it seems to be to me) are generally not reversed by stopping the hormone replacement then why do you need to continue? Just curious.

I was wondering if rubbing a little testosterone cypionate (sp?) on your genitals would make it (it being the clitoris, or dick, or whatever you want to call it) more sensitive or even bigger.

The T that I use is meant for the intermuscular injection--but I feel like I have heard people do this before with it and wanted to investigate further.... if anyone knows anything about this any information is helpful.

Thanks!

How long does testosterone remain in the system once produced?
